Permanent Residence Permit Card

Permanent residence permit

A Permanent Residence Card is a document that allows you to legally stay in Poland permanently, without specifying a specific date.

Obtaining a permanent residence permit is more difficult and requires more stringent conditions than for a temporary residence permit. The foreigner must have refugee status, be the spouse of a pole or have a unique relationship with Poland (e.g. long-term residence and integration with Polish society), which has been confirmed by the Voivode.

A Permanent Residence Permit Card gives you the opportunity to move freely around Poland and use various public services, such as health care or education. In addition, a foreigner with a permanent residence permit has the right to work in Poland without having to obtain a separate work permit.

In the case of a temporary residence permit, a foreigner must apply for an extension of the permit before it expires or for another form of legal residence, otherwise he / she may have problems with re-applying for entry to Poland.

In summary, the difference between a temporary residence permit and a permanent residence permit is that a temporary residence permit allows legal stay for a specified period, and a permanent residence permit allows legal stay in Poland for a permanent period, without specifying a specific term.
